Modern Art Oxford Current Exhibition: Aleksandra Mir, Space Tapestry

Modern Art Oxford’s current exhibition which runs until 12 November 2017 is Aleksandra Mir's Space Tapestry: Earth Observation and Human Space Flight. The exhibition consists of huge monochrome drawings inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry which were put together by a team of young collaborators who drew collaboratively in Aleksandra Mir’s studio. The drawings contemplate the future possibilities of Space and the evolution of advanced technology — particularly satellites and human space flight — in relation to our daily lives. The works explore the balance of technological progress and humanistic objectives, expressed through the work’s layered and participatory execution. A thought provoking and dramatic exhibition well worth visiting.
