We are delighted to announce that Christopher Parker has been made a Freeman of the City of Oxford - an honour steeped in history and symbolic of a deep connection to our vibrant and historic city.
The Freedom of the City is one of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies still in existence today, dating back to medieval times. While its privileges - such as rights to fish in the River Thames, and graze cattle and horses on Port Meadow - are more ceremonial than practical, the honour remains a mark of distinction and appreciation.
He joins a select list of individuals recognised for their service to the city, and carries on the tradition of former partners in the firm which can be traced back to the first Thomas Mallam.
We couldn’t be prouder to see his work acknowledged in such a meaningful way.
