Sonam joined the firm in 2024 as an Assistant Solicitor, having trained at a city firm in London and worked for various other London law firms including a specialist family law firm in Mayfair. Sonam now specialises in family law and in particular private family law assisting and acting for clients in relation to divorce and dissolution proceedings, financial settlements, applications involving children, specific issue, prohibited steps order and domestic violence applications.
Sonam qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and then practiced in private client having previously had a background in residential conveyancing. This knowledge helps provide clients with holistic and comprehensive advice as an all-round understanding of property law and private client greatly helps – this provides another layer of expertise so that she can provide tailored advice suited to the client’s needs.
She is considered as pragmatic, sensible, empathetic, caring and a good listener. Sonam aims to meet all her clients needs so that parties to a case can come to a clear resolution of their matter and if possible, a reduction of the conflict and acrimony that so often occurs in family law cases. Sonam strives to be friendly and approachable so that client’s feel comfortable as possible whilst they are facing challenging events in their personal life.
Sonam is also a member of Resolution (a body committed to a non-confrontational approach to family matters) Sonam is passionate about giving back to the community in any way that she can and has previously taken part in the London Legal Walk and Enabling Enterprise. Sonam also participates with pro-bono clinics and holds a clinic with Children Heard and Seen on the last Thursday of every month.
Outside of work, Sonam likes to keep fit and regularly attends the Gym. She also likes to spend time with family and friends. Sonam is also a keen foodie and loves to cook in her spare time and come up with new and interesting recipes.
